March Break

Free March Break Skating Extravaganza!

Join us for a week of fun on the ice during March Break! We're thrilled to offer free skating sessions at the Bobby Orr Community Centre for everyone to enjoy. Dust off your skates and glide into some family fun!

Schedule:

• Monday, March 10: 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM
• Tuesday, March 11: 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM
• Wednesday, March 12: 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM
• Thursday, March 13: 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Details:

• All ages welcome!
• No pre-registration is required; just show up and have fun.
• Don’t forget about safety – helmets are highly recommended for all skaters.

Free March Break Events & Activities at The Stockey Centre!

Join us at The Charles W. Stockey Centre for the Performing Arts & Bobby Orr Hall of Fame for March Break, all events are free! 

Schedule:

• Monday, March 10: Zoo To You from 1pm to 4pm
• Tuesday, March 11: Science North - Imagineering Exhibit from 10am to 4pm and their Science Show at 1pm.
• Wednesday March 12: AbraKIDabra at 2:30pm
• Thursday March 13: Bobby Orr Hall of Fame Activities from 11am to 2pm and a screening of The Wild Robot at 2pm.
• Friday March 14: Little Fingers Music presents Planet Hope at 2pm

March Break at the Museum!

Visit the West Parry Sound District Museum to enjoy a week of special back-to-back family fun activities consisting of games, educational guest workshops, presentations and crafting events. 

Schedule:

March 12: Wilderness Wednesday (Free Admission for the day):

• Learn about natural history at the museum and participate in free educational workshops
• 12:30PM-1:30PM: If Teeth Could Talk: Identifying Animal Skulls Family Workshop, presented by the Georgian Bay Biosphere at the museum
• 2PM-3PM: Winter Adaptations Guided Outdoor Nature Hike led by Chief Naturalist of Killbear Provincial Park at the museum

March 13^th :Throwback Thursday

• On this day we are inviting everyone to step back in time and visit the museum in their best historically inspired fashion! It can be anything from 80s clothing to medieval costumes, participants will get a special outfit discount for the day.
• 12PM-3:30PM: Befriend a Fossil: educational crafting workshop throughout the day, come see real fossils and make your own to keep! 

March 14^th : Firefighting Friday (Free Admission for the day)

• This is the grand opening of our new year long exhibition! We will be hosting special games, fun activities, mascots and an actual firetruck at the museum FREE for all visitors- thanks to the support of Reekie Denture Care.
• The day is for everyone in the community to come together, have fun and appreciate the history of our volunteer fire departments!

March 15^th :Steam Engines Saturday 

• Features a brand-new museum scavenger hunt themed around our nautical exhibits. Also a special model train demonstration given by our volunteer conductors!
