Development and Protective Services

The Development and Protective Services in the Town of Parry Sound incorporates the following:

• By-law Department
• Emergency Medical Services
• Emergency Planning
• Fire Department
• Building Department
• Planning Department

The By-law Department administers and enforces issues relating to animal control, property standards, clean yards, parking, and noise. Most issues are dealt with on a complaint basis with the exception being management of the downtown parking system.

Emergency Planning functions include the preparation of the town Emergency Response Plan and Emergency Response in the event of large scale disasters.

The Parry Sound Fire Department responds to emergencies within the town limits and assists local area fire departments through Mutual Aid and Automatic Aid.

Emergency Medical Services are contracted to the West Parry Sound Health Centre.
