Bill Connor inducted into National Marine Manufactures Association of Canada
At its November 21st Meeting, Council of the Town of Parry Sound recognized the induction in 2023 of Bill Connor, president of Connor Industries and Stanley Boats, into the National Marine Manufacturers Association Hall of Fame.
The National Marine Manufacturers Association Hall of Fame was established in 1998 in Canada to recognize and honour individuals whose names and deeds are synonymous with the pursuit of quality, innovation, and perfection within the sphere of their expertise; and those who have made or continue to make substantial and lasting contributions toward the advancement of the marine industry. Excellence in the areas of product development, competitive activities, environmental protection, legislative support, and arts & entertainment can be considered for the award. It is NMMA’s most prestigious recognition.
Upon induction, Mr. Connor said in his acceptance speech:
“I am humbled and honoured to be welcomed into the National Marine Manufacturers Association Hall of Fame and to be included with a group of outstanding inductees.” “My love of boating started early, and a big part of what has brought me to this point is my passion for what I do. Recreational boating with friends and family developed into a love of building high-performance vessels. I want to thank our exceptional team of professionals who make Stanley Boats the industry leaders that we are.
Building a prosperous rural business and competing against companies in much larger cities is tough. But at Stanley the sense of community translates into quality and local cooperation between government, suppliers and vendors is essential for future success”.
Congratulations to Bill Connor on this achievement!
