News Release – Town of Parry Sound releases Official Plan Discussion Paper #2

Friday, May 10, 2024 (Parry Sound, ON) – The Town is currently in the beginning of Phase 2 of a three-phase process to update the Town’s Official Plan.

As part of this phase, Council is pleased to release Discussion Paper #2. The Town is also seeking public feedback. 

MHBC, the Town’s Consultant overseeing the project, noted that three strong themes have emerged so far from consultation with the community. These include:

-    The important of the natural environment; 
-    The challenges and opportunities relating to growth management; and
-    Balancing these two points to align with a future vision of the Town.

“Public feedback is critical in helping guide the policy direction for the Official Plan update” said Manager of Planning, Jeremy Rand. “Members of our community are the experts who know the Town best and their input is important for the creation of an effective Official Plan.”

Discussion Paper #2 is available on the Town’s website for public comment until May 29th.
